Bryce M. Brown



Working in both the litigation and regulatory spheres, Bryce has experience in several federal and state regulatory programs, including the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Air Act (CAA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and state equivalents.

Bryce recently graduated magna cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School and was a summer associate with Marten in 2021. At Lewis & Clark he was an Associate Editor on the Environmental Law Review, an Environmental Law Fellow, and on the Scholar List. He also clerked at the Oregon Department of Justice, Trial Division. Prior to law school, Bryce was an Environmental Project Manager and Environmental Chemist, and received his M.S. and B.S. in Environmental Science from Brigham Young University.

  • Counsel to irrigation district for certification of dam rehabilitation project under Section 401 of the Clean Water Act.
  • Counsel to various current and former owners of contaminated land during cleanup negotiations with Washington Department of Ecology and other potentially liable parties.
  • Counsel to mining company and hydroelectric facility for adequacy of National Environmental Policy Act review of projects on federal land.
  • Represents multinational energy company in environmental compliance and due diligence matters in connection with acquisition of industrial facility.
  • Counsel to municipalities with publicly owned wastewater treatment plants in NPDES permit renewal including challenging the application of the Puget Sound Nutrient General Permit
  • Represent water rights coalition in water rights adjudication
  • Advises municipalities on compliance with PFAS regulations for drinking water and contaminated properties
  • Amicus brief to United States Supreme Court on behalf of coalition of property owners in Quiet Title Act case against the United States Forest Service
