John W. Elting
As Marten Law Group’s Executive Director, John is responsible for directing and overseeing the business operations and decisions of the firm.
John’s considerable business experience was gained outside of the legal profession. By applying general industry’s best practices to firm operations, John is uniquely able to provide a fresh perspective and a pragmatic approach to running a law firm. After training within GE’s Financial Management Program, John managed operations for GE and other electrical manufacturers, and co-founded and ran a manufacturers’ representative business. From there, he managed increasingly large business operations, including a term as President and Chief Operating Officer of Applied Power Corporation, a solar energy subsidiary of Idaho Power.
Since joining Marten Law Group in 2004, John has dramatically improved the firm’s internal systems and practices to achieve utmost client service and efficiency. Through his efforts to implement advanced technology, Marten Law is able to effectively compete with firms many times its size. John continues to shape and redefine the firm’s 5-year plan, including its expansion into new practice areas and new geographical markets.
Outside of work, John is actively involved in a number of civic and non-profit organizations in the Puget Sound region.
